Well, here it is. More than three decades after Top Gun became the most iconic fighter jet movie in history and a cultural phenomenon, we have our first real look at the sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. The trailer has a ton of direct callbacks to the original film. It"s all there, talk-downs by superior officers in moody-lit offices, sweaty shirtless dudes, high-energy cockpit and external flying sequences, tons of squadron insignias, plenty of aviator sunglasses, and of course some awesome dramatic shots from onboard the carrier. It also shows Tom Cruise as Maverick at the controls of a U. S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet, as well as riding his now vintage Kawaski Ninja H2 motorcycle, before teasing scenes involving an F-14 Tomcat – something we"ve known would be a part of the movie for some time now – at the very end.

Jackson) and Best Supporting Actress (Uma Thurman. In most years, I would say that John Travolta should have won the Best Actor Oscar, but I give the nod to Tom Hanks in "Forrest Gump. The acting nonetheless is still as good as you will find anywhere. Travolta, Jackson, Thurman, Willis, Rhames, Christopher Walken, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Harvy Keitel and Eric Stoltz are all terrific. The only sub par performance is that of Tarantino himself. The style of direction that Tarantino uses is one of those "love it or hate it" kinds. If you love few different camera shots and long focuses on a character, than you will like Tarantino"s style of direction. In conclusion, Pulp Fiction" is the best movie made in the 90"s, barely edging out "The Silence of the Lambs" for the crown. I was skeptical of the film at first with its long running time, but after sitting through it, there really is nothing in the film that is not necessary and that should be edited out. This is a film that once you see, you will want to watch over and over again. That is the true sign of a masterpiece.

I love this. ZEDHIT !Keep it up. The message delivery is quite heavy-handed and pedantic at the end, but the first 90% of the film does an excellent job of illustrating the difficulties women face when harassed in the workplace. The acting is superior - especially Theron"s portrayal of Megyn Kelly, for which an Oscar should be awarded. I highly recommend this movie and if Fox lovers can"t handle the truth, that"s hardly a surprise.

I"m not the type to hand out a 1-rating to bring a movie"s average down, but Django seems to receive more accolades than it should. From Reservoir Dogs on, I"ve seen every single Tarantino release in the theaters. This is the first time my friends had to carry me out - literally sleeping.
Django starts off well enough, with a great opening salvo that locks down the Oscar for Cristopher Waltz in about 15 minutes. But after an hour, the script starts to drag, and the snappy one-liners disappear. By the time DiCaprio and Samuel Jackson enter, the movie is effectively on life support. Neither can save it, with the plot spelled out and the pace gone. The death knell comes from Waltz, who has to relinquish his lead role to the good - but not great - Jamie Foxx. Foxx is promptly sent into a revenge-by-the-numbers routine we"ve seen several times from Tarantino.
Which is where I fell asleep. In the end, Django gets bonus points for its clever tackle of a tricky subject, and for a first hour that ranks among the most entertaining I"ve seen this year. But it"s not in the league of Inglourious Basterds, which isn"t in the league of Jackie Brown, which isn"t in the league of Pulp Fiction.

The rating system goes from 1 to 10, with 5 points given to the "watchability factor" 2 for the acting and 3 for the plot.
